Harassed by govt depts, CICU urges CM Mann to create standard operating procedure

Ludhiana, Mar 24 (KNN) The Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has appealed the newly elected Chief Minister of Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann to set a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) so that industries have clarity while working with government departments.

Industries are harassed by the government departments as the procedure is not clear which is posing to be one of the biggest problems, said CICU.

An SOP is required for a corruption free environment, said Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU welcoming the action taken by CM Mann to set up an Anti-Corruption helpline number.

He said such interventions are necessary to curtail corruption as there is maximum corruption in the departments in connection with the industries.

Hence maintaining transparency and a non-corrupt environment and setting up of SOP is very crucial, he added.

CICU has also requested the Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to conduct a meeting with the industry to understand and reflect on the grass root realities of the industry sector in Punjab.
