Haryana CM asks Directorate to strengthen MSME role in Defence & Aerospace, Toys & strategic sectors

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (KNN) The Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has asked Directorate of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to strengthen the MSME role in Aerospace and Defence, Toy Industry, Services sector, Construction and Industrial Parks.

He stated this while presenting the state budget for the year 2021-22 during the ongoing budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Friday.

Khattar, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said that at present the state government has been consistently taking effective measures to improve the Ease of Doing Business (EODB), strengthen physical infrastructure, and promote growth in the thrust sectors. The state has newly launched its Haryana Enterprises and Employment Policy, 2020 which envisions to propel the state’s industrial growth story.

''Through the incentives in the policy it aims to attract investment of Rs 1 lakh crore and generate 5 lakh jobs in the state,'' he added.

Khattar further said that with a special focus on MSMEs, our government launched the MSME Policy, 2019, which focuses on quality cluster development initiatives, domestic and international market development, online market linkages and enhancing export readiness of MSMEs in Haryana.

Recalling his government's initiatives to provide financial assistance to MSME, the Chief Minister said the state government has started MSME revival interest benefit scheme so that they can meet out the expenditure of 63% of their labour and wages.

"We are providing Rs 15000 at 2 per cent interest rate to 3 lakh people to help them start their micro-enterprises/economic activities," he added.

He said that the State’s conducive policies continue to make Haryana the trusted destination for investors as out of 495 MoUs signed, 188 have been implemented or are under implementation, with a potential investment of Rs 24,051 crore and expected employment generation for 32,030 persons.

“Haryana emerged as one of the frontrunner States in ‘Start Up India’ programme, 4119 Start Ups have been registered which is substantially higher than the registered startups in neighbouring states of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan '', he asserted.

Khattar on Friday presented a Rs 1.55 lakh crore budget for 2021-22 fiscal, with health, agriculture and infrastructure identified as key priority areas.
