“The Industrial and Investment Policy 2011 of the state of Haryana recognizes the clusters based approach as a sustainable, cost effective and inclusive strategy to ensure manufacturing competitiveness of the local industry and to encourage the development of ancillaries,” said HSIIDC.
“Under the strategy for industrial development, Industries Department of the State and Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation are focusing on cluster development and propose to set up common facility centres in partnership with the industry,” it added.
Meanwhile HSIIDC has invited proposals from Project Management Consultants (PMC) to carry out appropriate studies and prepare necessary documents including capacity building to support cluster development.
“The applicants for PMC must have annual turnover of Rs 25 crore for the last three years and should have presence in Haryana or Union Territory Chandigarh,” it said.
The cluster will be developed over an area of about 105.64 acres.
The Haryana government has so far set up 10 industrial clusters which include Technology Park at IMT, Manesar, Apparel Park at Barhi and Food Park at Saha.
“These centres would address the common needs of the MSMEs in the areas of R and D, technology up-gradation support, standardization of products, quality, designing and marketing initiative with promotion of branding of products,” it said. (KNN)
