New Delhi, Jan 21 (KNN)   In an initiative to provide world class research, training and education in biotech science in multiple disciplines, Haryana will soon have a Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) in Faridabad.

The project established under an agreement with UNESCO for providing opportunities to Indian and other Asian students and scholars, is one of the two major institutions being set up within a Health Biotech Science Cluster (HSBC).

Towards this, Engineers India Limited (EIL) on behalf of Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) has invited bids from the private sector for construction of phase I extension works like civil, structural, electrical, HVAC, elevators and other developmental works.

HSBC and the institutions therein will also include mission centres dedicated to vaccines, diagnostics and imaging, molecular medicine, platform technologies, informatics, experimental animal facilities, technology transfer and intellectual property services and clinical trial services.

The educational programmes of RCB will be designed to create innovative opportunities to engage in research and learn to integrate science, engineering and medicine to provide major breakthroughs of relevance to India.  (KNN/ST)
