Haryana units can pay online pollution consent fee

Chandigarh, Jun 23 (KNN) Haryana industrial units and projects requiring to get 'consent to establish ' and 'consent to operate' under the pollution control law can now pay the mandatory fee through the gateway of e-payment.

The facility is being used by the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB).
 
“It is brought to the notice of all industrial units / projects covered under red and orange category requiring consent to establish (CTE) / consent to operate (CTO) under Water Act, 1974, Air Act, 1981 and authorisation under Hazardous Waste (MH and TM) Rules, 2008 that the board is starting e-payment gateway service with effect from June 23, 2014,” an official notification said.
 
In view of the above, all the industrial units / projects…are informed to use the e-payment gateway service for depositing CTE/CTO fee, the notification added.  No other mode of payment will be accepted.
 
Among the functions of HSPCB are - to plan a comprehensive program for the prevention, control or abatement of pollution of streams and wells; as well as of air in the State, and ensure implementation of the same. 

Towards this, it inspects sewage or trade effluents, works and plants for the treatment of sewage and trade effluents and to review plans, specifications or other data relating to treatment plants.  It also reviews the system for the disposal of sewage or in connection with the grant of any consent as required by the various Acts pertaining to air, water, hazardous waste, etc.  (KNN/ES)
