Haryana budget brings no new taxes; Rs 1,386 cr outlay for industries

Chandigarh, Feb 23 (KNN) Haryana’s Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced no fresh tax in the budget on Thursday. 

Presenting the budget, he proposed Rs 1,83,950 crore state budget for the year 2023-24, an increase of 11.6 per cent over the revised estimates of Rs 1,64,808 crore.

According the budget break-up, pensions has received the highest portion of Rs 1,3000 crore followed by Health and Medical education – Rs 9,647 crore and Electricity – Rs 8,274 crore.

Panchayats and rural development has been allotted – Rs 7,202 crore and Industries with Rs 1,386 crore.

He also holds the finance portfolio and held a series of pre-Budget consultation meetings .

The Chief Minister promised to provide at least 65,000 jobs in various posts. 

He said that recommendations of the sixth pay commission (for employees) shall be implemented. 

“Three new metro links have been proposed — Rezang la chowk to IGI international airport; Southern Peripheral Road to Pachgaon via global city and Manesar; Asodha to Bahadurgarh to connect Haryana Orbital Rail Network with KMP expressway,” he added.   (KNN Bureau)
