Haryana MSMEs seek Technical Textiles Lab, Testing and Training Advancements in upcoming state budget

Chandigarh, Feb 17 (KNN) MSME industries in Haryana have urged Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to set up a centre for the technical textiles which would consist of testing and design lab as well as training to ensure progress in the sector.

These demands are placed right ahead of the state budget which will be presented on February 23, 2023 by CM Khattar.

Speaking exclusively with KNN India, Rakesh Chhabra, President of RAI Industries Association said, “We have CIPET at Murthal for Plastics, MSME Technology Centre at Rohtak for Metal Products. Similarly, we request for a centre for Technical Textiles comprising of lab for testing, a design studio, latest machinery for doing the reverse sampling & trainings.”

Chhabra who is a CEC member of Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME) virtually submitted a slew of suggestions to the state government during a recently held pre-budget consultation in presence of the CM.

He further told KNN India that Haryana is in need of three to four Entrepreneurship Development Institutes (EDI) which would help boost skill development across the state.

Reflecting on the need for training, he suggested setting up of Modern Skill Institute for Industrial Training where through courses knowledge on expertise is imparted on new Systems & Technologies like 4.0, TS Quality Standards, Cost Audits etc.

Chhabra has also requested the state government to introduce migratory allowance of Rs 2000 per month for migrating students from one district to other for apprenticeships.  (KNN Bureau)
