Himachal Pradesh govt to set up Investment Bureau in state

Shimla, Feb 8 (KNN) With the aim to speed up investments in the state, the Himachal Pradesh government has decided to set up a dedicated investment Bureau, Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan informed on Tuesday .

During an interaction with the industrialists from Paonta Sahib and Kala Amb, the industries minister said, “Attracting investment is a priority of the government and it will be ensured that various approvals and no objection certificates are granted in a time-bound manner.”

He pointed out that all files will be cleared at the district-level and then sent to the CM for approval. Time-bound clearance of files will be ensured to facilitate the industry.

During the meet, the industries minister also asked the representative of the Paonta Sahib Chambers of Commerce and Industry to present a list of pending issues plaguing the industrial areas.

As per reports, the state government is planning to set up new industrial areas in Paonta Sahib to boost investment.

The minister, however, said that it was not possible to make changes to Section 118 of the HP Reforms and Land Tenancy Act, 1972, that prohibited outsiders from buying land in the state without prior permission.  (KNN Bureau)
