Himachal Pradesh to launch its EV policy soon

Shimla, Feb 6 (KNN) The Himachal government is working on its Electric Vehicle (EV) policy and it will launch it within a month, said Deputy chief minister Mukesh Agnihotri on Sunday.

Speaking at the EV Expo organised by the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Agnihotri said that the Himachal government has a fleet of 3,500 buses and out of these 1,000 buses will be replaced.

“As many as 700 bus routes are completely in losses on which electric buses will be run. Almost 300 electric buses are being procured in the first phase,” he said.

As per reports, around 19 electric vehicles have already been included in the fleet of the transport department.
PHDCCI Haryana Chapter Chair Pranav Gupta said that such EV expo will also be organised in Himachal with the help of the Himachal government.

Addressing the occasion, MD, Himachal Road Transport Corporation, Sandeep Kumar said that the infrastructure for electric vehicles is being strengthened in Himachal. “The work of making EV charging stations has started in all the districts of Himachal Pradesh,” he added.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu on Friday flagged off 11 electric vehicles for the state transport department.  (KNN Bureau)
