Shimla, May 26 (KNN) The Himachal Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation Ltd (HPSCSC) will be modernising its infrastructure for procurement with the help of e-governance and information technology.

The corporation has proposed to carry out activities such as of online application development, procurement management module, management of whole sale go-down and retail shops module, accounts management and SMS services.

Towards this, HPSCSC is seeking partnership from reputed IT companies to be implementation agency for managing procurement, transportation, storage, distribution and sale finance management, inventory management, human resource management and general office administration.

The implementation agency will closely work with HPSCSC and send the reports to the HPSCSC as well. It will update and maintain the project plan throughout the duration of the engagement.

The primary function of HP SCSC is that of a ‘Central Procurement Agency’ for all the controlled and non-controlled essential commodities (as identified by the central or state government under public distribution system) at the wholesale level and further to distribute these commodities through the district co-operative federations or the tehsil co-operative unions (which function as sub-wholesalers) and where these are weak or do not exist to distribute directly to the fair price shops.
