HSIIDC to set up mega leather cluster in Mewat, Haryana

Gurgaon, Nov 28 (KNN) The Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) has proposed the setting up of a mega leather cluster in the industrial model township (IMT) at Rojka Meo in Mewat, Haryana to expand the leather industry.
“Land area of 105.64 acres has been earmarked for the cluster. The project is proposed to be developed under the sub-scheme ‘mega leather cluster’ of Indian Leather Development Programme (ILDP) of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India,” said an official notice.
The cluster will have units dedicated to manufacturing of leather products such as footwear, footwear components, gloves, leather garments, saddlery and harness items, etc.
Assistance provided by the government under the scheme would be suitably passed on to allottees of plots, it said.
In this regard, HSIIDC seeks bids from entrepreneurs who are interested in establishing their units in the proposed cluster.
HSIIDC is the nodal agency for development of Industrial Infrastructure in the State of Haryana. After acquisition of land through the Department of Industries, Government of Haryana, the Corporation prepares a detailed plan for its development and thereafter executes various development works, namely construction of roads, provision of water supply, sewage, drainage and electrical infrastructrue.
This is followed by provision of secondary level of facilities such as the STP/ CETP, development of plantation/ green belts, commercial and institutional sites, common parking facilities, etc.
In this process, the Corporation has developed Industrial Model Townships, Industrial Estates and Industrial Clusters (Theme Parks) at strategic locations and framed its own internal set of guidelines for their governance. (KNN/ES)
