If required, parameters and guidelines can be reconsidered to boost MSMEs: Rajasthan Gov

Jaipur, Nov 8 (KNN) Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra has urged the banking sector to be more supportive towards the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state and said if situation demands the concerned guidelines can be amended to fillip such small sector.

''The parameters and guidelines could be reconsidered to give a boost to such units, if required,'' said Mishra.

The Governor was speaking as the chief guest at the third MSME summit `MSME 2022: Forging the Future` organised here by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) on Thursday.

Lauding MSME sector and its contribution in the country Gross Domestic Product (GDP), Mishra said, ''The MSME sector was the second in terms of creating employment in the country, only after the agriculture sector.''

He further said, with a small investment like 20 per cent, it creates 80 per cent employment. He also advised the MSME entrepreneurs that they would need to focus on the quality of their products as well as marketing.

Mishra asked the entrepreneurs that they should avoid over-dependency on the government and so that they should be able to overcome the bottlenecks with entrepreneurial acumen.

Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Rajasthan Council Co-Chairman Randhir Vikram Singh too lauded the MSMEs sector and said that MSMEs have played a pivotal role in providing employment in backward areas as well as to the youth and socially disadvantaged.
