IIA launches state wide discussion on GST

Lucknow, July 29 (KNN) Keeping in view the possible introduction of GST in next Financial Year and release of Model GST Rules 2016, Indian Industries Association (IIA) kick started discussions on the biggest tax reforms in the country i.e. GST.

First workshop was held at IIA Bhawan, Lucknow during the Central Executive Committee meeting of IIA. This workshop was attended by more than 60 industrialists form all parts of Uttar Pradesh.

During the workshop, discussions were held mainly on the provisions of model GST law 2016. The main issues discussed in the meeting were related to the threshold limit, provisions of the prosecution of the dealers, registrations, assessments, set-offs, ITC, scrutiny, existing tax exemptions and rates of Tax, said an release.

It is decided by IIA that before freezing the reactions on Model GST Law for submitting these to the Government, such workshops on GST will be held at regional levels in next one month including Saharanpur, Moradabad, Meerut, Bareilly, Agra, Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Dehradoon, Gurgaon, Delhi, Faridabad and Sonepath etc.

These workshops will be organised involving experts from Commercial Tax, Government of respective States, professional institutions related to Indirect Taxes, consultants and experts from within IIA. (KNN Bureau)
