Indian Army opens skill development centre for women in Gurez valley, Kashmir

Srinagar, Sept 10 (KNN) The Indian Army has opened up a skill development centre in the border village of North Kashmir’s Gurez sector.

The primary motivation for setting up this centre is to help the women of Gurez valley to start their own businesses in order to become economically independent and self-sufficient.

The centre will provide skill training in various fields ranging from computer skills to handloom weaving and stitching.

Earlier this year, the Indian army had set up a skill centre at Boniyar in Baramulla to hone the skills of women in the area.

In recent times, the Indian Army has been coming up with various initiatives for women living in the border areas. It has opened up many centres in different sectors close to the line of control.  (KNN Bureau)
