Industrial units in Jammu consider shifting to HP over power tariff hike
Jammu, June 16 (KNN) Increase in power tariff has become a major concern for the industrial sector in Jammu and many units might consider shifting to Himachal Pradesh where power cost is comparatively cheap.
Speaking exclusively with KNN, Lalit Mahajan President of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) said that businesses that are contemplating to set up units in Jammu may avert to Himachal Pradesh due to power hike in the region.
Mahajan has been elected as the President of BBIA for the fourth term.
He will serve as the chief of the Jammu based industrial body for the term 2022-24.
He said that their agenda remains intact which is to highlight the needs of the industry and MSME sector.
Nine nomination paper were received against the available post of six office bearers of the Association.
Tarun Singla has been declared as Sr. Vice President, Ajay Langer declared as Vice President, Viraaj Malhotra declared as General Secretary, Rajesh Jain as Secretary and Vivek Singhal declared as Treasurer of BBIA Office Bearers for two years. (KNN Bureau)
