Industries Association of Uttarakhand meets Chief Secretary to discuss several issues

Uttarakhand, June 2 (KNN) During a meeting organized under the chairmanship of Utpal Kumar Singh, Chief Secretary, Uttarakhand, Industries Association of Uttarakhand raised several important issues.

Pankaj Gupta, President of Industries Association of Uttarakhand said in the meeting that it was first advised by the association to set up a Virtual Land Bank using which people will be able to purchase land for any kind of commercial activity.

Chief Secretary was informed about the problems being faced by the industry in absence of detailed guidelines of the fire department under Ease Of Doing Business who ordered the department to take necessary steps to issue guidelines within a week.

It was also decided in the meeting that district industrial coordination committee will be set up under the guidance of District Magistrate and this committee will work to promote investment in any area of the district, a detailed outline of this will submitted to Industries Association of Uttarakhand within a week and Qualified & Professional Economic Development Officer will also be appointed to the committee. In the first phase, the committee will be set up in two districts of the state - Garhwal, and Kumaon and will be expanded in other districts depending on the success on these districts.

The Chief Secretary expressed displeasure on not regularising the meeting of 'District industry friend' and he ordered to send a letter to all the District Magistrate in the regards.

The Chief Secretary spoke to the zonal manager of the RBI for not giving loans to the industry in the state under bank related PCA and clarified that no such restrictions have been imposed and the RBI will immediately issue the possible direction to all the banks.

The Chief Secretary asked the association to provide detail suggestions for units which are non-functional.

The Chief Secretary also asked the Secretary, Labor to speak to all the District Magistrates to ensure availability of proper lands for ESIC dispensaries and also expressed displeasure on delay in work by concerned authorities in developing hospitals/dispensaries on the allotted land and asked the Secretary, Labor to speak to the Central government and make some alternative arrangements.

He also ordered the chief engineer to release tender on 3.5 km four-lane road from ISBT to Rispana bridge and ensure timebound completion of the work.

The association also apprised him about the jam that often took place in and around ISBT. The issue of the traffic jam at ISBT because of Police Station and seized vehicle parked over there was raised following which he asked Additional Chief Secretary Radha Ratudhi to take appropriate steps by consulting concerned departments.

The Association also apprised him about the clusters that have great opportunities in the hilly area and can be developed and a meeting has been scheduled next month for detailed discussion on it.

At last, the Association gave an advice on forming a Uttarakhand State Future Foundation (Escalator) on the lines of Dubai. The Chief Secretary not only praised it but he also asked to present it as Concept Note.

Rajiv Agarwal, senior president of Industries Association of Uttarakhand, Manoj Goyal, secretary of Industries Association of Uttarakhand, GP Ratudhi, Chapter chairman, Haridwar Chapter, Industries Association of Uttarakhand and Arun Dadu were present in the delegation.
