Industries in Jammu meet Home Minister Shah; seek changes in Land Revenue Act

New Delhi, 25 Oct (KNN) The delegation of Federation of Industries, Jammu  met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and submitted a MoU, requesting the Home Minister for the necessary Amendment in the Land Revenue Act 1962 may to done on priority basis for the transfer of Non-Agricultural Private Land for  the Industrial Purpose  on Free Hold Basis enabling the Prospective Unit Holders to purchase the Non Agriculture Land for the setting up of their units in time bound manner.

They met in the presence of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in PMO with Independent Charge and Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor JKUT at Jammu and submitted a detailed Memorandum of various urgent issues related to the Industrial Sector of J&K.


Lalit Mahajan, Chairman, FOIJ informed the Home Minister towards the prospective Investors from outside the Union Territory of J&K  who are in the process of setting up of Big Industrial Units in J&K for which the Developed Industrial Land of J&K SIDCO/SICOP is not available at present for immediate allotment whereas In respect of Non Agriculture Private Land, the same is not transferable to the Outside Investors as per: the present Land Revenue Act of Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

The other issues  related  to the Industrial Sector which includes the following points also highlighted in the Memorandum:-

-- 1. Compulsory Purchase by Central Govt. / Union Territory of J&K Departments with Price/Purchase Preference from Local SSI Units.
-- 2. Establishment of Mother Industry in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
-- 3. Reimbursement of Road Freight for the dispatch of Industrial Goods to Domestic Market as well as for Export from Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
-- 4. Establishment of Export Promotion Industrial Parks/ SEZ's in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
-- 5. Extension of 300% Reimbursement of Gross GSJ' Incentive to the Existing MSME Units for Substantial Expension under the Industrial Development Scheme 2021, notified by Ministry of Industries & Commerce.
-- 6. Free Hold Rights of SIDCO/SICOP Land to the Existing Unit Holders.
-- 7. Clarification regarding applicability of Sabka Vishwas (Legacy Dispute Resolution) Scheme, 2019 to the State of Jammu & Kashmir in respect of exemption under Notification No.56/2002-CE dated 13.11.2002 by Union Finance Ministry.
-- 8. Increase of Custom Duty on Walnut Kernels to provide a level playing field  to Local Walnut Kernels manufacturers.
