Industries in Maharashtra would be shut if people from Bihar stop working in the state: Bihar DCM

New Delhi, Feb 9 (KNN) Industries in Maharashtra would face closure if people from Bihar stop working in the state, asserted Sushil Kumar Modi, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister.

He made the above remarks at the party’s programme in Nagpur while addressing a query on the anti-migrant sentiment in the state.

He claimed that industries in Maharashtra ‘would be shut if people from Bihar stop working in the state’.

He said “A huge number of people from Maharashtra as well as other states are currently in Bihar. Any person from any state can go and work anywhere and if people from Bihar stop working in Maharashtra then tomorrow the industries would be shut in Maharashtra.”

Adding to the statement, he stated that the people of the state had not stolen ‘any one’s job’ and they are getting employment in states like Maharashtra because the people from Bihar are ‘very honest and hardworking. They work very hard to earn their money.

However, earlier in the month of October, talking with KNN India, Federation of Gujarat Industries (FOGI) rubbished all media reports which stated that migrant workers from states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh have left Gujarat in the wake of violence following an alleged rape incident that happened in state.

Patel said “There is no sentiment, feeling or thought in minds of business or citizenry of Gujarat against any citizen of India in Gujarat. Industries and societies have protected and treated all working or residing nearby as their family and continue to do so.
