Industries incurring severe loss due to Jat agitation: MIWA

Chandigarh/ Manesar/ Delhi Feb 20 (KNN) Industries in Haryana are incurring severe loss due to ongoing Jat stir across the state which killed four people in exchange of firing between agitators and troops.

Talking to KNN, General Secretary of Manesar Industrial welfare Association (MIWA) Manmohan Gaind, said that borders are locked across the city and movement is totally on halt.

He said that the agitation for reservation has taken a toll on the industries badly.

Haryana is a landlocked state which is surrounded by Delhi, Rajasthan and Punjab.

Employees are either not coming or demanding for early leave  due to this ongoing Jat agitation, he added. We are suffering in terms of production, he said.

Yesterday the whole Gurgoan was paralysed, he said.

We don’t have figure right now that how much loss, he added.

Jats are agitating for quotas in jobs and want to be counted as a part of Other Backward Classses, a section that has 27% quotas in government jobs.

On Saturday, agitataors continued to block roads and rail routes, affecting the supply of essential commodities to Rohtak, Jind, Bhiwani and other parts of Haryana.

Some of Gurgaon's roads and other major highways have also been blocked by protesters,

Jat agitators are disrupting traffic and even set fire to a railway office, the army used helicopters to reach parts of Rohtak that remain tense even as a curfew imposed overnight remains in place. (KNN Bureau)
