New Delhi, Dec 8 (KNN) To setup industries in Dakshina Kananda in Karnataka, Sasikanth Senthil S, Deputy Commissioner has directed the officials to prepare a vision document.

Senthil said that there is a need for a comprehensive plan for the development of industries in the district.

The officer was speaking at the district-level Kaigarika Spandana committee meeting.

He said, “The plan should look into the place where industries can be set up, marketing facilities and the availability of infrastructure.”

“The vision document should also furnish details on the kind of industries that can be set up in the region,” he added.

The members of the District Small Scale Industries Association said that the local gram panchayat is serving notices to pay property tax for the plot owners at Export Promotion Investment Park (EPIP) at Ganjimutt.

To this, Senthil promised to write to the gram panchayat about the matter.

Joint Director of the District Industries Centre, Gokuldas Nayak, said that there is a need to de-notify MSEZ land in order to set up a women entrepreneur park.

The decision will be taken on earmarking 44 acre land near Infosys in Mudipu, he said.

Nayak said that the land has been sought for the setting up of a fire service station at Karnadu industrial area.

A proposal has been sent to the higher authorities, he added.
