Industry body in J&K submits memorandum to PSC on Home Affairs

Jammu, Aug 19 (KNN) Federation of Industries, Jammu (FOIJ) has submitted a memorandum to Anand Sharma, Chairman, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs on behalf of Industrial fraternity at Srinagar.

The memorandum was submitted by Lalit Mahajan, Co-Chairman, Federation of Industries, Jammu in the presence of other Members of Parliament of both the Houses, Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Principal Secretary Industry & Commerce and Ajit Bawa (Co-Chairman FoIJ) on behalf of Industries fraternity at Srinagar on Wednesday.

Mahajan, who is also the president of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) also conveyed gratitude to the government at the centre for the grant of fiscal incentives for the industrial sector of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) and termed it as a beginning of new era of Development & industrialization.

He said FoIJ hopes that the industrialization will achieve a new height in the coming days in J&K UT to provide employment opportunities to the local youths as well as overall growth in the state economy as we are expecting the huge Investment in industrial sector of J&K on the basis of Rs 28,400 crores Central Industrial Package announced by Government of India.

During meeting Mahajan highlighted various issues including establishment of Mother Industry in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, compulsory purchase by central government organizations, reimbursement of Road Freight Incentives for the dispatch of industrial goods for domestic as well as export to other countries from Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and establishment of Export Promotion Industrial Parks/ SEZ’s in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Mahajan also conveyed thanks to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta and Principal Secretary Industry & Commerce, J&K, R P Thakur for the issuance of Jammu & Kashmir Industrial Policy 2021-30 with the grant of fiscal incentives to existing industrial units which will provide a great relief to the existing industrial sector working in in J&K.
