Kochi, Jan 10 (KNN)  Infoparks Kerala, which has completed phase I of its IT Parks here has generated employment for about 1,50,000 directly and indirectly.  Phase II is expected to generate additional employment to 80,000.

Thanks to land transferred by the Government of Kerala in 2004, Infoparks completed the  first phase with a clientele of over 100 IT/ITES Companies such as WIPRO, Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant, ACS Xerox, EXL Service, Ernst and Young, KPMG, UST Global, POLARIS, Arbitron, IBS, etc.

“In the first 9 years, Infopark has generated direct employment for 21,000 IT professionals and indirect employment for over 1,50,000 people. The first phase of the campus will generate additional direct employment opportunities for 25,000 people in the next 5 years. Infopark is also developing satellite IT parks in other towns near Kochi,” said an official brief.

Infopark is now expanding further, having launched Phase 2, on 160 acres of land adjacent to Infopark Phase 1.

“Infopark Phase 2 is planned as ‘walk to work IT township’ with IT/ITES buildings and other commercial amenities like Shopping malls, Food courts, Sports Complexes, Schools, Hospitals, Business Hotels etc. An Electronics Technology Park is also proposed as part of the Phase 2 project,” it said.

Infopark Phase 2, when completed, is proposed to create an additional employment for 80,000 people. The proposed IT Township will house all the supporting amenities for a work-life balance.

As a part of its support amenities in Phase II, Infopark plans to set up a Campus School to cater to children of employees and the neighbourhood.  The proposed Co-educational School will provide education from kindergarten to XII standard under the CBSE Board or State syllabus or ICSE, in all streams.

In this context, Infoparks has invited bids from reputed national and international education service providers for developing a Campus School on approximately 5.50 Acres of non SEZ land, at Infopark Phase 2, in Kakkanad, here.

Infopark will be providing the entire external infrastructure (Power, Water, Internal Roads and Drains).
