ITPO to organise mega leather fairs in 2014-15

Chennai, Dec 12 (KNN)  Preparations have started for the India International Leather Fairs to be held in Chennai in 2014 and 2015.

Organised by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), the India International Leather Fair (IILF) 2014, 29th in the annual series, will be held from February-1 to 3 here.

It will have on display the entire range of products relating to leather industry from raw material to finished products and auxiliary products such as finished leather; shoes; shoe components - uppers, soles, heels, counters, lasts; leather garments, fashion accessories, leather goods - wallets, belts, gloves, portfolios, hand bags; saddlery and harness; machinery and equipment and chemicals.

IILF has all along been a vivid presentation of the leather industry.  It showcases the latest expressions of the trends, styles, designs and colours in world fashion. 

There will be exhibits displayed by more than 400 companies, including over 100 from more than 20 foreign countries.

According to official data, business generated during IILF Chennai 2013 was about USD 284.4 million.  Further, two joint ventures were entered and 9384 trade enquiries were generated. In addition, there were 630 distributorships obtained by Indian participants during the fair.

About 93.04 per cent of the participants had indicated that their participation in IILF Chennai 2014 was cost effective.

ITPO now seeks bids from specialised agencies to set up the exhibitions for India International Leather Fair-2014 and 2015and other events in Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai during 2013-14 and 2014-15. 

The work will involve providing hanger structure, false ceiling, air conditioning of temporary hanger structure (on hire basis), etc. (KNN/ES)
