Jammu industrial body demands land allocation on first-come-first basis

Jammu, Feb 7 (KNN) The Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) has urged the state government to allot industrial lands on first-come-first basis and develop the land first in a time bound manner.

With the announcement of new industrial package applications were invited through a portal, however it was later revealed that only handful of developed lands are available, Lalit Mahajan Co-Chairman, FOIJ told KNN India.

“Large number of units have applied for the land allocation, but now the department has suddenly introduced the ranking system based on the criteria of investment  and employment generation,” he said.

Moreover allottees are asked to pay full deposit amount for premium along with 3 years advance rent and maintenance fees, said Mahajan expressing disappointment as MSMEs which applied in the early slots are pushed back and the late applications are given priority owing to higher capital investment.

To address this issue, FOIJ has raised in concern in front of Governor Manoj Sinha to issue necessary directions.

The grant of Rs 28,400 crore was enhanced to Rs 50,000 crore on the basis of which prospective investors from within/outside the UT applied for the allotment of land in the proposed Industrial Estates as notified by the Industries Department in the JKINVEST Portal. (KNN/KT)
