Jammu MSMEs hail J&K Govt for initiating work for power substation in Digiana

Jammu, Jan 31 (KNN) Jammu based Small Scale Industries Association (SSIA) has hailed state government’s pro-activeness in releasing payment for starting the work of Power Sub Station to supply 24 hour uninterrupted power to the industrial estate of Digiana.

J&K Minister for Industries & Commerce Chander Prakash Ganga handed over a cheque of Rs 85 lakhs to Ashwani Gupta, Chief Engineer M&RE, Jammu, during a function organized by SSIA.

The cheque was given as a part payment to start the work of Power Sub Station of 6.3 MVA tapping from the grid for supply of 24 hour uninterrupted supply to Digiana.

The Association said the work in this regard has started after a long struggle of more than 20 years. The MSMEs from the region have been demanding for the same for more than two decades.

It said the initiative taken by the state government will save hundreds of MSMEs in the region.

At the end of the event, Chander Prakash instructed the Chief Engineer M&RE to complete the station before 30 APRIL 2017.

SSIA General Secretary Anil Modi presented the vote of thank to the chief guest.

Also present in the event were - M.D SICOP R.L Tikkoo; General Manager DIC Jammu, Baldev Singh Blowria District President BJP, Harvinder Gupta General Secretary BJP Jammu, Lalit Mahajan Chairman FOI, Rajesh Jain (President, Gangyal) and other dignities and members of the association. (KNN Bureau)
