Jammu MSMEs say Pulwama attack will further scare off investments from state

New Delhi, Feb 15 (KNN) MSME association in Jammu, Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) has strongly condemned the attack on CRPF convoy by Jaish-e-Mohammad militants in Kashmir and asked for central level intervention to end such terror attacks.

He said just incidences not only costs lives of the brave soldiers but directly or indirectly impacts trade and growth of the entire nation.

While speaking with KNN India, President of BBIA, Lalit Mahajan said “Such incidences put a question mark on future investments.”

Expressing his concerns with regard to safety of Jammu & Kashmir, he stated that maximum micro and small units in Jammu are dependent on Kashmir and such kind of incidences not only deteriorate peace and harmony but also affects the business environment.

He asserted that the future of Jammu & Kashmir is in dark as industries set up by locals in the area have not been growing since long.

Though, he claimed that Jammu is safe but there is no certainty about the future as it can happen any time in Jammu also. Strong actions are needed to curb terrorism for the growth and development of nation, he added.

The attack has evoked strong condemnation from political parties across the spectrum and various other organizations in Jammu region giving a call for bandh on Friday.

A CRPF convoy comprising 78 buses in which around 2,500 personnel were travelling from Jammu to Srinagar was targeted by terrorist group Jaish-e-Muhammad (JeM) on February 14.

A bus, in which 42 CRPF personnel were travelling, was extensively damaged in the blast which was followed by firing on the vehicle. (KNN/YV)
