Jammu MSMEs take GST-incentive related concerns to Director Industries & Commerce, seek assistance

New Delhi, Apr 9 (KNN) In a bid to raise the concerns of the industry comprising of a fair share of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Association of Industries Samba recently called on the Director Industries and Commerce Jammu Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma.

During the meeting, the delegation put forth issues including the incentives for Jammu as par with North-East.

The MSMEs also informed about the need of freight related subsidy in order to strengthen exports from the state.

“The capital blockage due to delay in refunds under Goods and Services Tax was also raised during the meeting”, the association said in a release.

Responding to the points raised by the delegation, Sharma said guidelines related to freight subsidy shall be issues shortly by the state government.

“Regarding the incentive in lieu of 2 per cent CST as is was announced in the budget, the Director informed that it is under process”, the press release added.

The Director also said that Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has already started working for the clearance of pending cases, once done, the details shall be up on the industries website. Sharma assured the delegation that government is aware of the problems faces by industries amidst delayed GST refunds.

 “The most transparent procedures shall be implemented soon to bail out industries in their difficult times and industrial sector will be provided with all possibly support by the government”, he added. (KNN/DA)
