Jammu tax commissioner assures resolution to industry related issues

Jammu, Feb 20 (KNN) Commissioner, Jammu Commercial Tax Department has assured to resolve the issues related to the industrial sector in the state on priority basis.

In a recent meeting with Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), the commissioner also assured to take up the matter with the concerned Deputy Commissioner to resolve the issues related to the Lakhanpur check post for the speedy clearance of goods.

During the discussion, BBIA General Secretary, Lalit Mahajan highlighted various issues like exemption of entry tax on industrial equipment including EOT crane, fork lifts and pallet trucks which are widely used for the material handling in the industrial units, whereas the department has classified these items under earth moving equipment.

Exemption on entry tax on spares and consumables, green cannel for industrial sector, 24 hour clearance of goods and installation of full body truck scanner at Lakhanpur check post were some of the other points discussed in the meeting.

The delegation was led by senior vice president, Rakesh Bhat and general secretary Lalit Mahajan who were accompanied by executive committee members Sidharth Dogra, J L Gupta and P S Jaggi. (KNN/ST)
