In particular, the corporation is keen to effectively manage its Urban Haat’s production activities and organise training programmes that would ensure quality products.
In this context, Jharcraft seeks bids from companies, NGOs, societies and firm to manage these initiatives. The firms should have knowledge in management, production and training of handicraft, handloom, sericulture and other livelihood activities.
Activities that are currently being carried out at the Urban Haat in Hazaribagh have to do with Leather, cane and wooden furniture, dhokra, shoes, weaving paper craft, embroidery, etc.
Inspired by Delhi’s Dilli Haat, Urban Haat, a concept of the Union Textiles and Handicraft Ministry, has been set up in Hazaribagh to encourage rural artisans and Self Helf Groups (SHG).
Located near the Patna-Ranchi road with 50 stalls, production hall, seven food courts, guest House, Design Centre and Cafeteria, the haat is spread across an area of 9.75 acres of land. (KNN/ES)
