Jharkhand a role model for others states in implementing govt schemes: KVIC Chairperson

New Delhi, May 29 (KNN) Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) Chairperson Vinai Kumar Saxena praised Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board's efforts for endorsing and popularizing the fabric in the state –a tribal heartland.

Appreciating the Board's efforts, the KVIC Chairperson during a press meet said that Jharkhand has emerged as a ‘Role Model State’ for others in implementing the government schemes besides taking up innovative ventures like bee-keeping, tassar silk production etc on a much wider scale.

He also advised Sanjay Seth, Chairperson of Jharkhand State Khadi and Village Industries Board to focus on silk production and to cover tribal population to Prime Minister Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) for better outcome.

Highlighting the performance of training centers that are owned and run by State Khadi and Village Industries Board in different parts of the State, he added that all the state run khadi boards are doing commendable job not only in reviving khadi culture but also in generating employment for local residents.

Further, he suggested the Chairpersons of different Khadi Boards to visit the training centers that are functioning in the state to get first hand information about the ongoing projects and the methodologies being adopted here for boosting cottage industry.

Saxena assured the members of Jharkhand Khadi Board that KVIC will be providing the bee-keeping boxes to Jharkhand Khadi Board as per the requisition made to popularize ‘Sweet Revolution’

Nearly 22,000 bee-keeping boxes will be supplied to Jharkhand and nearly 1 lakh bee-keeping boxes will be distributed covering different States by October 2018. For Jharkhand, KVIC has kept no limit for supplying bee-keeping boxes, he added.
