Jharkhand BJP President blames state govt for delay in setting up of textile park

New Delhi, Feb 16 (KNN) The BJP President of Jharkhand, Deepak Prakash has accused the state government for not cooperating with the Central government’s initiative to establish textile park and impeding the plan as the Jharkhand government has not yet allotted land for the project.

Prakash said that despite the interest shown by the union government, the state government of Jharkhand hasn’t taken advantage of it which would help in generating large scale employment.

He conveyed this to Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday and urged the state government to act responsibly on the proposal for setting up of textile park in the state.

Criticising the Jharkhand government’s move to reduce the annual target of road construction under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana from 563 km to 444 km, he stated that the state government has no right to reduce the target of PMGSY road construction without the consultation of Centre.

He pointed out the assurance given by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari of providing full support in construction of roads to the level of Europe and America in 3 years for which the annual plan of Jharkhand was increased from Rs 675 crore to Rs 5,000 crore for the financial year 2022.

However, the Jharkhand government unilaterally decided to change the construction target to 444 km without informing the central government, said Prakash. (KNN Bureau)
