Ranchi, Sep 26 (KNN) For the purpose of upgradation, maintenance and management of Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Jharkhand which provide technical training to students, the state government plans to rope in private sector partners.

The state government is looking for partners who will operate the institutes.

It is improving infrastructure through procuring machinery, furniture etc. on public private partnership basis.  It also intends to provide more facilities to students in classes and examination halls.

There are three ITIs in the state, Freedom Institute of Industrial Training Centre (FIITC) in Jamshedpur, JPS Memorial Industrial Training Centre (JPSMITC) in Bokaro and Industrial Training Centre (ITC) in Koderma that provide engineering and non-engineering courses.

These institutes are recognized by the Department of Labour, Employment and Training (DoLET) of Jharkhand and follow curriculum designed by the National Council for Vocational Training.

Since, Jharkhand is a centre of large integrated steel plants and other engineering industries, it requires trained manpower in various streams, which in turn requires quality institutes to facilitate good education and training to people.

FIITC Jamshedpur, (JPSMITC) Bokaro and ITC Koderma were established in 2006, 2007 and 2009 respectively. (KNN/GUNJ)
