J&K Govt for renovating Lakhanpur toll post building to help JKTPO exhibit state specific products

Kathua, Apr 30 (KNN) Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department of Jammu & Kashmir Navin Kumar Choudhary visited Toll Post at Lakhanpur and asked the officials of the excise department to renovate the building and hand it over to J&K Trade Promotion Organization for exhibiting state specific products to tourists.

He visited industrial estate, Bhagthali and Ghatti of Kathua and monitored the road networks, water supply, drainage system and allied common facilities at Ghatti industrial estate.

He asked the concerned officers to initiate land acquisition for phase third of Ghatti industrial area besides asking for formulating proposals envisaging establishment of dry port and warehouse besides logistics park there, according to official release.

Choudhary instructed director industries to visit Ghatti with the concerned officers so that all the land related issues could be resolved at the earliest. He also discussed textile industry related issues with the representatives of Chenab Textile Mills during the visit.

Besides this, he visited Phase 3, 2 & 1 of Samba industrial area and emphasized on developing infrastructure including roads, water supply, electric connection and drains on priority.

He also exhorted on planting more trees in and around the industrial area to arrest the pollution level, read the handout.

While interacting with industrial associations at Samba, Choudhary discussed steps taken by the department to ensure CETP (Common effluent treatment plant) establishment and other issues like connectivity of Phase 1 & 2, ESIC (Employees’ State Insurance) Hospital, single window clearance, CSR projects in consultation with DC Samba beside others.

During meeting with officers at Samba, he said that all languishing projects should be monitored and completed in time with specified quality norms, it added.
