J&K govt imparts skills to youth for overseas employment

Jammu, Nov 26 (KNN)  The J&K State Overseas Employment Corporation which has been set up to facilitate employment of unemployed youth within and outside the country, since its inception in 2010, has offered services such as training and placement while liaising with foreign employers with regard to mandatory formalities and legal requirements.

Among its objectives are to create awareness amongst target-groups about technical and soft-skills required for overseas job; counselling of the potential emigrant job seekers; facilitating employment outside the state and in foreign countries by liaising with the employers, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, International Organization for Migration, Head of Indian Missions abroad.

The corporation has also been actively involved in capacity building, skill up-gradation as per the requirement of overseas employers / industry requirements; facilitating internationally recognized and approved skill certification and skill testing; providing pre-departure orientation training; maintaining database, conducting surveys and researching to forecast demands in overseas job-markets.

To take forward their mission, the Corporation now seeks to recruit reputed skill providers or agencies who can train aspirant overseas job seekers at institutes identified by them.

The agencies should be able to provide internationally recognised skill certification and place trained candidates in the overseas job market.

Stakeholders and Customers of Jammu and Kashmir State Overseas Employment Corporation are job seekers, overseas employers, skill providers, returnee migrants, migrant workers of Jammu and Kashmir in overseas countries; Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Indian Centre for Migration, International Organization for Migration etc; recruitment / placement agencies.  (KNN/ES)
