J&K MSMEs applaud self-certification scheme for labour laws

Jammu, July 20 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) have applauded the self-certification scheme for labour laws.

Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) on Monday held a meeting where the members conveyed their heartiest thanks to Lt. Governor G C Murmu and other officials concerned for the implementation of the said scheme.

''The members termed it as a step towards Ease of Doing Business (EODB) and providing the hassle-free enjoinment relief to the existing unit holders to attract new investment in the territories under the Atama Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan,'' said BBIA in a statement.

The main objective of this scheme is to reduce the visit of government officials from inspection to those units who opt for this scheme without compromising on safety, health, social security and welfare of the workers and self-certification.

It would also hold testimony to the fact that these units do not compromise on safety, health, social security and welfare of the workers, BBIA said.

''It is pertinent to mention here that rapid industrialization in our state is the need of the hour and to provide employment to the local youths here, we request the Lt Governor to further liberalize labour laws as already implemented by several other states government to provide the cordial atmosphere for the prospective investors,'' BBIA added.
