J&K MSMEs hail 50 per cent adjustment of fixed charges in electricity bills

Jammu, Nov 18 (KNN) Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have hailed the adjustment of 50 per cent fixed charges of electricity bills issued for the month of October 2020 to the industries by the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation (JPDC).

Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) held a meeting on Wednesday and thanked Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for the adjustment of 50 per cent fixed/minimum demand charges for the period January 1st, 2020 to October 2020.

The industry body also drew Lt. Governor's attention towards the delay reported in the sanction/surrender of power load in favour of the industrial units.

''At present it takes a couple of months to get the power connection due to cumbersome procedures adopted by the department which results in delay in the implementation of projects,'' said BBIA.

''Our request for the adoption of Ease of Doing Business (EODB) is pending with the Power Development Department (PDD) since long but no action has been taken by them to simplify the procedure regarding power sanction/surrender of power load by adopting the MIS system,'' it added.

Further, BBIA requested Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha to kindly intervene into the matter and issue necessary directions to PDD.
