J&K Training Institutes to transform into CoEs acting as industrial hubs for MSMEs

Srinagar, July 22 (KNN) The transformation of Technical institutions of J&K into futuristic Centres of Excellence (CoEs) will act as technological, industrial hubs for MSMEs and support entrepreneurship culture across the UT, said Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar on Thursday.

Holding the review meeting for development of COEs, Advisor Bhatnagar held in-depth deliberations with the representatives of Tata Technologies on proposed collaboration between Government of J&K and Tata Technologies for establishment of 40 CoEs across J&K.

Apart from being a technological and industrial hubs for MSMEs the centres will also help in advanced skilling of students aligned to key industries of J&K, he said.

Bhatnagar asked the representatives of Tata Technologies that an action plan in advance should be formulated for establishing these CoEs.

“All the requirements for successful implementation this initiative should be studied well in advance,” he added.

The LG Advisor also called upon the concerned stakeholders to maintain smooth coordination and synergy while implementing this project.

“The objective of this initiative should be achieved and therefore it is imperative that stakeholder’s coordination is maintained,” he added.

He further asked the representatives of Tata Technologies to develop a plan for course and trade upgradation of Technical institutions of J&K so that innovations and skill development of students can be facilitated. (KNN Bureau)
