Jodhpur, Jun 14 (KNN) The Spices Board will be outsourcing the processing facilities at the Spice Park at Jodhpur in Rajasthan . Spices Park in Jodhpur has been set up to give a boost to the spices in the state. Traditionally, spices have been concentrated in south India.

The Jodhpur Spice Park will provide common infrastructure facilities for both post-harvest and processing operations of spices and spice products such as coriander, fenugreek and other seed spices like cumin and fennel.

The Spice Board of India is in the process of setting up infrastructure and processing facilities for the park that will come up here.

The park spread across 60 acres of land will provide major facilities such as administrative block, power station, fire fighting system, warehouse facilities, canteen, processing facilities for seed spices, sterilization unit, water treatment plant and other facilities, as per official data.

Towards this, Spice Board is inviting bids from private entrepreneurs to run the facility for its commercial operation.

The selected entrepreneur will develop processing plants by availing the common facilities in the Spices Park. The grower community can make use of these facilities for selling their produce directly to the exporters so that they can avail the premium price for their produces.

The board is in the process of establishing spices parks across the major producing and market centres. The mission is to establish at least one spice park in each state of the country by the end of the XII plan period. (KNN/ST)
