Karnataka energy minister assures normalcy of power supply in the state

Bangalore, Sept 12 (KNN) Minister of Energy, Karnataka, DK Shivakumar on Friday assured industry body that the normalcy of power supply in the state will be achieved shortly.

Responding to the demand of Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA), the minister has assured to take up the issue with the Managing Director, BESCOM to have only 2 hours scheduled power cut for industries.

Shivakumar also informed that detailed chart of scheduled power cuts has been uploaded in the website may be downloaded by the respective associations to help to monitor the system.

President of KASSIA, VK Dikshit along with the office bearers met the minister appraised him about the energy crisis which is causing severe hardship to the industry sector.

The association has informed the minister that the micro small scale units situated in  the residential  areas like Srirampuram, Prakashnagar, Abbigere,  Kammagondanahalli, Machohalli, Kamakshipalya, Doddanna Estate and private layouts in and around Peenya Industrial area  are  suffering acute unscheduled power cuts of 4 hours  which is affecting more than 20,000 micro and small industries in these areas.

KASSIA also brought to the notice of the Hon’ble Minister about the disparity in power cuts between rural and urban industries. (KNN Bureau)
