Bengaluru, Dec 24 (KNN) Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday announced that at least 20 per cent of land possessed by Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) will be provided to small scale industries, said a media report.

According to the report, the minister, in the golden jubilee celebrations of Karnataka State Small Industries Development Corporation (KSSIDC), said the state government will invest Rs 15,000 crore in small scale industries. It will help in creating 15 lakh jobs in the state.

“Prominence would be given to those left behind in the 2014-19 state policy. Women, disabled and those from backward classes would be motivated to start small scale industries of their own,” it quoted him as saying.

Siddaramaiah said that the trade license has been issued to small scale industrialists following requests from industrialists.

Their request to decrease the lease period from 90 years to 10 years would be looked into, he added. (KNN Bureau)
