Bengaluru, Nov 27 (KNN)  The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) has called for suggestions from the industry about measures that could be included in the new Industrial Policy 2014-19 under development in the state.

In a letter to all its members President, FKCCI, R Shivakumar said, “FKCCI representing the voices of the industry community would like to submit a memorandum to the Government of Karnataka for consideration and inclusion in the New Industrial Policy for Karnataka 2014 -2019.”

Representatives of the industry who wish to send points for inclusion in the policy memorandum have been asked to do so by November-28.

Formerly called the Mysore Chamber of Commerce, FKCCI was established in May 1916 as a means to broaden the outlook of the merchants in areas that will be affecting them and also the economy of the state.   It provided them an opportunity to jointly deliberate and act on issues pertaining to industry, trade and commerce.

Among its objectives are to act as a spokesman for business and industry in the state; to provide a forum of businessmen to discuss and deliberate on all issues affecting the general interests; to continuously interact and work with the government in resolving the various problems that arise from time to time in the business and economic spheres.

On a regular basis FKCCI disseminates information on business and the economy to its members and the community in general.  Besides, it organises seminars / workshops / symposia, training programs, etc for the benefit of members and the general public.  (KNN/ES)
