Karnataka on the way to rapid industrial development

Mysuru, Dec 19 (KNN) Karnataka is in the forefront of industrial development in India and is on the path of rapid development, said D V. Prasad, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka.

Participating at a Meeting with the members of Mysore Industries Association (MIA) organized in the city he said that now the stress was on “Make in India” and “Start-up India” launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Asian Paints, one of the biggest paint companies in the country, is establishing its unit at Adakanahalli industrial Area near Nanjangud with an investment of Rs 2,500 crore. This will provide more jobs to the local population. The government is committed to provide the necessary infrastructure and other facilities to industrialists to set up plants in Karnataka,” he said.

On efforts by the state government in reopening Falcon Tyres, Prasad added that all efforts were on to save the company from becoming defunct.

“The Falcon management holds 55 percent of the company shares and in this situation, it cannot be sold or hand over its management to others. We are trying our best to save the company and solve the problems of its employees,” he said.

President of MIA Vasu said that if the Hale Unduvadi Drinking Water Project is implemented, it will help industries draw water from the KRS Dam even if the water level reaches the dead storage level.
