Hubballi, Oct 26 (KNN) The Karnataka chief minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday will inaugurate the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) cluster park in Hubballi-Dharwad.

He will also ink an MoU with around 10-15 leading companies.

Speaking about the FMCG cluster park, West MLA Arvind Bellad on Sunday said that the FMCG cluster targets creating 5 lakh jobs, with 35 per cent economic growth of the region by 2030.

In 2019, then chief minister BS Yediyurappa had announced the setting up of the cluster in Dharwad during the ‘Invest Karnataka-Hubballi’ event.

“The cluster at Mummigatti, near here, is being developed keeping in mind the fundamentals of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ of the Union government,”Bellad told TNIE.

Bellad further said the cluster will evolve on the concept of shared facilities and knowledge to improve productivity by minimising overhead costs. 

The companies investing in the cluster  are expected to  start production within the next 18-24 months.  (KNN Bureau)
