Bengaluru, Jun 12 (KNN) The Karnataka government inaugurated the first edition of 'Uthpadana Manthana' on Tuesday, a strategic initiative aimed at positioning the state as India's leading manufacturing destination.
The day-long conclave, held as a follow-up to Invest Karnataka 2025, was conducted under the leadership of M B Patil, Minister for Large and Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development.
The event served as a collaborative platform where government officials engaged directly with industry leaders to develop actionable strategies for industrial growth.
Approximately 80 senior executives, including CEOs and CXOs from nearly 60 companies, participated in the conclave to discuss sector-specific development plans.
The discussions cantered around six priority manufacturing sectors identified by the state government: Aerospace and Defence (including Space Technology and Drones), Electronics and Semiconductors, Capital Goods and Robotics, Automotive and Electric Vehicles, Technical and Man-Made Fibre-based Textiles, and Consumer Products including Fast-Moving Consumer Goods, footwear, and toys.
Minister Patil emphasised the initiative's comprehensive approach, stating that Uthpadana Manthana represents the government's commitment to transforming Karnataka into a global manufacturing hub.
He noted that the program extends beyond policy discussions to focus on practical, high-impact solutions developed through direct collaboration with industry leaders.
The state government has set ambitious targets through this initiative, aiming to attract investments worth Rs 7.5 lakh crore and generate 20 lakh employment opportunities over the next five years.
The government plans to enhance merchandise exports through the development of Free Trade Warehousing Zones, export-oriented industrial parks, and improved port connectivity.
Karnataka also seeks to establish itself as India's most competitive Electronic System Design and Manufacturing destination by attracting Original Semiconductor Assembly and Test and Assembly, Test, Mark and Pack players while strengthening the component ecosystem.
The state government identified Electric Vehicles, semiconductors, aerospace, and advanced textiles as key focus areas for industrial development.
Minister Patil announced that the government will establish dedicated task forces for each priority sector to implement the proposals and ideas generated during Uthpadana Manthana.
He characterised the initiative as an ongoing engagement process designed to ensure Karnataka maintains its position at the forefront of India's industrial transformation.
