Karnataka weavers to get big push in upcoming state budget: CM Bommai

Bengaluru, Jan 23 (KNN) The Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Sunday promised full assistance to the state weavers and assured them of more support in the upcoming budget.
Speaking after inaugurating the Amrit Mahotsav of Karnataka Rajya Togataveera Kshatriya Nekara Sangha in Bengaluru, Bommai said, “This sector received a deadly blow after globalisation. Today the weavers can only survive if their products get a good market. We will provide completer assistance from raw materials up to technology development to help the weavers grow.”
During his address, CM Bommai mentioned the weavers-beneficiary scheme, which was launched by his father- Somappa Rayappa Bommai- and underlined that his uniform distributing scheme has been inspired by his father.
“Today, the textile industry has given the maximum number of jobs in the country. If used correctly, the unemployment problem can be solved. The neighbouring Bangladesh's economy is surviving on the Textile industry," Bommai added.
