Kashmir farmers need to be entrepreneurial: Director Agriculture

Srinagar, May 25 (KNN) The farming community in Kashmir must adopt the culture of entrepreneurship, said Chowdhary Muhammad Iqbal, Director Agriculture Kashmir while inaugurating one-day induction workshop for Agripreneurship on entrepreneurship development in J&K.
The workshop was organised by the Agriculture Department in association with the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
It was held at the conference hall Agriculture complex Lalmandi in Srinagar.
In l his inaugural address Iqbal highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship culture in the farming community.
There are various agro-climatic conditions in the region offer a wide range of opportunities to the entrepreneurs in the agriculture sector, he added.
He further said that Kashmir has the potential to produce different vegetables and agricultural crops at times when the rest of the country is not able to produce fresh vegetables.
This will allow us to explore the marketing avenues and fetch good returns for our produce, he added. (KNN Bureau)
