KASSIA appreciates CM Bommai for accepting budget suggestion to set up flatted futuristic townships

Bengaluru, Mar 7 (KNN) The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) has welcomed the state budget and has appreciated Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai for accepting its suggestions to set up flatted futuristic townships in each revenue division.

“It’s a sincere attempt at a please-all budget which focuses on jobs, intent to provide incentives to industries, and setting up various industry parks in Bengaluru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Dharwad,” said KASSIA.

P. Shashidhar, Administrator, KASSIA said, “We are happy that our suggestion to set up flatted futuristic townships has been accepted with such townships to come up in each revenue division.”

Among other suggestions, the state budget has also announced to give priority to economically backward entrepreneurs in allotment of plots in new KSSIDC/KIADB industrial estates.

The new integrated employment policy to be rolled out shortly is sure to raise a lot of expectations from the stakeholders, stated the association.

Further, they have recommended the government that past experience has to be taken into account with regards to the new textile parks announced for Kalaburagi and Vijayapura as many implementation bottlenecks may stall the policy goal.

“We are also relieved that the budget has not imposed any additional taxes. The move to allow motor vehicle tax on a monthly basis instead of quarterly by vehicles registered in the state where the amount exceeds Rs 30,000, if it means payment in installments, is welcome,” said KASSIA.

However the association pressed that the promise to reform the administrative mechanism of KSPCB is awaited by micro and small enterprises, while hailing the overall thrust on roads, rail, port and ropeways. (KNN Bureau)
