KASSIA to organise awareness programme on the latest amendments in the ESI & PF Act

Bangalore, Oct 14 (KNN) The Karnataka Small Scale Industries Association (KASSIA) is organising an awareness programme and interactive meeting on the latest amendments in the Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Act and Provident Fund (PF) Act on here today.
The promulgation of ESI Act, 1948 envisaged an integrated need based social insurance scheme that would protect the interest of workers in contingencies such as sickness, maternity, temporary or permanent physical disablement, death due to employment injury resulting in loss of wages or earning capacity. The Act also guarantees reasonably good medical care to workers and their immediate dependant.
The programme will be inaugurated by Additional Chief Secretary, Labour Department, Government of Karnataka, PB Ramamurthy.
KASSIA President, VK Dikshit will be presiding the event while Regional Director, ESI corporation, JH Nayak; Director ESIC Medical services, V Sridevi; Regional PF Commissioner, K Narayana and Regional PF Commissioner 1, Sarojini Rane will be Guests of Honour. (KNN Bureau)
