Kerala Cabinet extends startup benefits beyond IT sector

Thiruvananthapuram, June 30 (KNN) The Kerala Cabinet on Wednesday decided to extend the benefits provided to IT-related startups registered under the Kerala Startup Mission to the startups in other fields as well. 

To avail the benefits the non-IT startups will have to meet the conditions and guidelines formulated jointly by the stores purchase department and the electronics and IT department.

The benefit extension is for three years from the date of registration or the date from which the products have been given clearance by the Startup Mission, whichever comes first.

It has also decided to increase the cap of the financial limit for all the services and purchases for the products manufactured by the registered startups from Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh.

There has also been an increase in the limit for participating in the limited tender for the startups from Rs 1 crore to Rs 3 crore.

For conducting the digital resurvey of 1,550 villages in the state the cabinet gave approval  to the revised estimate as Rs 858 crore.

The cabinet decided to waive off the dues from the Kochi Metro to be paid to the State Industrial Security Force (SISF) till 2025. (KNN Bureau)
