Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 19 (KNN)  As a part of refurbishing its human resource hub, the Kerala government proposes to rope in a training service providers for imparting skill development in various sectors of the economy.

The programme will be initiated under the project Additional Skill Acquisition Programme (ASAP), a joint initiative of General and Higher Education Department of the state government, it said today.

It will implement the ASAP to amplify skill sets to students along with their regular courses. The initiative is also expected to improve the employability of the workforce and students.

While there is a large scale unemployment in the country, the industry faces gaps in skilled and employable workforce.

Along with the Centre, several state governments have now been focussing on the crucial gap. (KNN/ST)
